This is going to be an ugly battle! Domonique Ramirez was crowned Miss San Antonio last April, but she may lose her crown. And get this, the reasons have to do with her tardiness… and weight! Get all the juicy details, with more photos and videos below.
Miss Texas (photo above) is the next title the San Antonio hopefuls are hoping to win. However, the pageant says the 17 year old didn’t follow the rules and regulations and they feel they have every right to give the title to runner-up Ashley Dixon. The reigning queen is now fighting them in court and has already had some success.
Domonique Ramirez was granted a restraining order that postponed the hearing until February 16th and that restricts the pageant from officially taking her title yet. It seems like both sides have a decent argument and I think the ruling could really go either way.
Linda Woods, the pageant board’s spokeswoman basically believes that the current Miss San Antonio should lose her crown because she either skipped or showed up late to official events, she would act inappropriately, and that she gained weight. What she said officially was:
“She was doing a photo shoot and asked to wear her wardrobe from the competition, but it did not fit her. I told her we need to get you on an exercise program. We need to get ready to compete for Miss Texas, just like any elite athlete.”
That may come back to bite her! The teenager and her team states that she has fulfilled all of her obligations and any mishaps have actually been the pageant’s fault, by either not providing a chaperone or making up lies.
“I shouldn’t have to be slandered like this and my future shouldn’t have to be ruined over this.”
If this issue is dragged out and not resolved soon, there may not be a contestant from this area competing in the Miss Texas competition this summer. What do you think about the whole situation with Domonique Ramirez possibly losing her Miss San Antonio crown over being late and gaining weight?
