One of the most classic shows from the 80′s is actually going to get redone. That’s right, things are in production for a “Dallas” remake. TNT Network will run the show, which will feature some of the old favorites! For more inside details, with photos and videos too, keep reading below.
The show was about the Ewing family who were a wealthy oil and cattle ranching family. The show was known for its drama and exciting cliffhangers. Talks of redoing the show have been going on for many years, but now it looks America will finally get what it wants.
Not all of the cast in the photo above will be participating, though we have heard Larry Hagman (J.R.), Patrick Duffy (Bobby) and Linda Gray (J.R.’s wife) will be reprising their roles. Since the members of the original show are much older, this version will focus on the Ewings’ children. For this “Dallas” remake, TNT Network writer Cynthia Cidre has written in John Ross (J.R.’s son) and Christopher Ewing (adopted son of Bob) who fight about who is in charge.
Some new faces to the television drama will be Josh Henderson as John Ross and Jordana Brewster as Elena. She will apparently get involved in an interesting love triangle! Filming has not started yet, but we should have more news soon.
We have seen older shows redone with some original cast, such as 90210. In the same way this one will focus on the next generation. The original series ran from 1978 up until 1991 and aired 357 episodes. I never saw the original but it sounds very interesting and it may just be a huge success again!
What do you think about a “Dallas” remake? The TNT Network seems to be very excited about the opportunity and after many years of talk they are putting the wheels in motion. Will you tune in to watch the new version? After you check out these great pictures and video, leave me your comments in the section below!

Yay Dallas! J.R. rules…I always rooted for him, even when he was being a jerk.
Oh, and there is no apostrophe in Ewings…unless, of course, you are talking about the back of someone in the Ewing family, then it would be a Ewing’s back.

Great (sarcastically), why don’t they remake every other classic TV series while they’re at it. No one these days has any creative talent to come up with some original shows, so why not do what even the music and movie businesses are doing, copy off others and continually ruin classic works of art. They’ve tried to milk Star Trek for everything they could even with a lame movie with nothing but lens flares in it, butchering The Beverly Hillbillies with a ridiculous Jim Varney character, Lost in Space with a movie that flopped, and more that do nothing but show they should just retire a great series with class. Quit REMAKING things… come up with new and fresh ideas that speak for today, and not destroy tomorrow.

I will be waiting & watching for when it will be on.
Good Luck TNT!!!!!!! I hope it will be a winner!!!!!! Happy to hear that Larry, Linda & Patrick will be in it too! Hoping that maybe some of the other originals will be in it too.

It is not a remake if some of the original cast will be included.. more of a continuation like daytime soaps. I will watch, and hope the directing/stories are worth the wait.

I am happy that the project is finally getting greenlit and that it’s bringing back many of the originals to reprise their roles.
It’s actually a misconception that the show is a remake; that would imply that it’s a re-do or do-over of some kind… which it’s not. More accurately it’s a relaunch and/or continuation of the original series, similar in concept to what was done with the most recent “90210″ and “Melrose Place” shows (although more people will probably care more about the “Dallas” show than those others… and hopefully it will be done much better than those as well ; p ).
I’ve been working with Bryan J. Kinnaird for the last year or so in developing a web comic for the Ultimate Dallas website [Google-search it] and hoping to usher in just this kind of re-launch.
Although it will have roots in an older idea/property, there is opportunity for the new series to blaze its own path a give a new generation of Ewings to the world to enjoy…
