Wow, at first I was really happy for Reeg…but to realize his retirement could be a result of a pay cut? Quitter. Be sure to check out pictures and videos below!
Reports surfacing suggest that Regis Philbin actually quit because he was being offered less for his seat on Live with Regis & Kelly. Apparently, executives of the show say that the host was nearing the end of his contract, making an estimated 18-20 million dollars a year! Philbin’s agent, Jim Griffin, and tv execs were reportedly in negotiations for a new deal for Reg, ultimately ending with a pay cut for the legendary host. Not only because the show doesn’t seem to be as popular as it was years ago, but too, because of his absence from the show with co-host Kelly Ripa.
What’s more, is that Regis didn’t even tell Kelly about his alleged retirement until 15 minutes before the start of the show. Even though it is reported that Ripa was more shocked than upset, to no surprise, she was furious! Sources say that Reeg “showed a total lack of respect for her,” bottom line. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, but may be Philbin could have taken a different approach? On with the show!
Rest assured people, Regis himself has stated:
“I’m leaving the show. I’m not retiring from show business.”
Well isn’t that good to know. As for his replacement? That’s going to be tough. To be honest, I think the show should just be replaced altogether! Ha! Regis Philbin quits over pay cut? What else is he going to do? It’s not as though he’s actually funny. He’s just greedy and that will keep him from expanding into anything else. What a toad!

I’m not gonna lie…I would not miss the show…I’m definitely NOT A FAN of Kelly Ripa!!! I’ll miss Reeg tho, he’s the only reason I would even consider watching the show.

Maybe at this point the only thing keeping him on the show was the money. Seems like he may just wanted to one up the exec’s and say I dont’ have to stay
