Martha Stewart and her dog split…her lip! Yeah, seriously, her French bulldog Francesca head-butted her and sent her to the hospital! That’s some major doggy doo doo. Be sure to check out pictures and videos below!

In terms of endearment, Stewart’s pooches were apparently not in the kissy mood. According to the Lifestyle mentor herself, Martha took to her blog with the following detailed message regarding the incident:

“As I leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca, I must have startled her, because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent’s face. I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed.”

Martha suffered a busted up lip from her doggy dog, and from the sounds of it, it wasn’t pretty. She says that it felt like whiplash, her upper lip bleeding profusely. She was taken to the emergency room where she was treated with stitches and eventually released. For photos from the accident and more on this story, click here!

Following the incident, the domestic diva thanked her doctors for “their prompt and professional attention” and her fans for their love and support. Rest assured, her pooch Francesca is a lovely dog. It’s gotta be puppy love people!
