Isaiah Washington Let Go From Network…I mean…Grey’s Anatomy

ABC and Isaiah Washington’s rep have confirmed that Washington will not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy for another season. Washington’s controversial comments about other cast members throughout the season have led to a rift between he and others on the show.

This year’s season finale of Grey’s Anatomy caused speculation that Washington was on the way out when his character, Dr. Preston Burke broke up with his fiancee and moved out of their apartment.

The other players on Grey’s Anatomy were notified of Washington’s release on Thursday night. In a statement to the press regarding his firing, Washington actually recycled the famous Peter Finch in Network quote:

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.”

Ummm…if Isaiah is the one who’s not going to take this anymore…why did he have to get fired to leave?
