Madilyn Grace Smith: Ne-Yo’s Baby Girl

Meet Madilyn Grace Smith, Ne-Yo and Monyetta Shaw’s baby girl. She was born last night at a hospital in Atlanta, according to reports. Baby photos haven’t been made available to the public yet, but you can be assured that we’ll have them for you as soon as they are. Read more below.

Madilyn Grace Smith is a fortunate little girl. She is the daughter of one of the most talented singer/songwriters in R&B, not to mention her father is a real class act too.

The arrival of Madilyn Grace Smith made Ne-Yo a father for the first time, and her famous daddy issued a statement explaining the joy she has already brought him. He said:

“I’ve been in love before but this feels like nothing I’ve ever felt. Like I’m in love for the first time.”

Ne-Yo was participating in a charity event when he heard about Shaw going into labor, but he still managed to make it to the hospital in time to witness the birth… Congrats to the new parents!

Fan Fact: Have you ever wondered how Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Chimere Smith, got his nickname? His friend Shawn Milligan was so impressed with the ‘So Sick’ singer’s talent he said that he could “see” music like Keanu Reeves’ character ‘Neo’ could see in The Matrix…I think this is a fair assessment.
