James MacArthur the original Hawaii Five-0’s Dano has died at age 72. You can learn all about James and what caused his passing below. There is a picture and video of this extremely talented actor.

He was known as the original Dano on Hawaii Five-0, yes James MacArthur is who I am talking and I am sad to report he has died. The cause of death is unknown.

In terms of a biography this is what we know about the son of screenwriter Charles MacArthur and actress Helen Hayes. Hollywood was in his blood that is for sure so one would assume he grew up La La Land nut even though he was born in Los Angeles he was raised in Nyack, New York. His acting career kicked into high gear after his outstanding portrayal of a frustrated teenage in Deal a Blow.

The rest as they say is history. He went on to star in a number of Broadway plays, movies and television shows. In 1967 his life was changed when he won the role for which most of us know him for on the hit CBS show. It is thanks to James character Detective Dan Williams on that show that one of the best known TV catch phrases “Book ‘em, Danno” came about.

Despite his successful acting career some might be surprised to know that MacArthur had many other ventures including a telephone answering service back in the 60’s. As well as during the 1990’s he was part owner of Senior World publication and you would occasionally see a celebrity interview written by him.

James was married three times and has four children. He married current wife H.B. Duntz back in 1984.

The original Hawaii Five-0’s Dano, James MacArthur has died. He was an extremely talented man who was loved by Hollywood and you can see that by just checking out his acting and performing credits. Seriously he had one heck of a successful career.
