Ashley Judd’s Husband, racecar driver Dario Franchitti, won the Indianapolis 500 yesterday, a race that was cut short due to the rain.

This has been the biggest race to date that Franchitti has won, and the second win for his racing team in three years. The race was stopped after 166 laps. He jumped to the lead spot after the two drivers ahead of him had to make a pit stop.

“The ups and downs throughout the day – what can I say?” Franchitti said, according to the Indianapolis Star. “I’m in shock right now – it’s been a rollercoaster month, and it was a rollercoaster day.”

“It was going to come down to a dogfight, and there’s a lot of strong cars,” he said, the Associated Press reports. “Whatever happened, if it came down to that dogfight, it was going to be hard, so I was hoping for the rain.”

As Franchitti made his victory lap, Ashley climbed the pit wall and ran over towards the celebration.
