This is one of those rare sad days in the world of comedy. Less than a week ago funny man Greg Giraldo was rushed to the hospital as the result of an overdose, and today he passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
TMZ.com first broke the news of the death and you can find out what they had to say by clicking here.
I was a big fan of Giraldo and this news deeply saddens me. If you’ve ever watched Last Comic Standing then you know he was the only beacon of comedic light shining through an otherwise lackluster show.
Not to mention all of his golden moments he had as an insult comic at countless celebrity roasts. Over his career he roasted some of the biggest names in show business for the annual Comedy Central special, including: Chevy Chae, Pam Anderson, William Shatner, Jeff Foxworthy, Flavor Flav, David Hasselhoff, and Larry the Cable Guy.
Reportedly, arrangements are being made for a public memorial service.
My heart goes out to his fans, friends and family.
The comedian had three children with wife, Maryann Giraldo.
One thing that most people are unaware of about Giraldo is he graduated Harvard Law School, and he worked as an attorney for almost a year before he transitioned into being a comic. The reason why nobody really knows this tidbit of information is Giraldo didn’t like talking about his law days.
I offer you our comment section to leave your condolences for the dead comic.
