This is such horrible news! I have been watching these shows since I was 5! I think it is a terrible mistake for them to take these shows off of the air. First of all, the shows they plan on replacing them with sound AWFUL! I can tell you that I will definitely not watch them. There are already enough reality shows centered on health and food. If I wanted to watch something like that I would watch the Food Network or something. I want to see my "old friends" on the soaps each day and see what they are up to. Another thing, shame on ABC for making all of the actors on AMC move out to California and up root their lives only to cancel the show. That just shows how heartless they truly are. Viewers have been watching these shows for years even when writing has been terrible. Maybe ratings would go up if you actually hired writers who weren't so content on writing garbage and ruining the show. These writers strayed so much from the personalities of some of these characters and have given us some of the worst plots in years! Even so I still faithfully watched. The story lines have been getting better. Shame on you ABC you should listen to your viewers comments regarding plots to help your shows. Instead you cancel them to put on shows that no one will watch. I want to know what people you actually surveyed said they would watch this junk! We all know we need to eat healthier and exercise. Do we really need another show to remind us of this? Needless to say I will only be watching ABC from now on to see General Hospital, after that it is on to some other channel that actually has some good programming. I stopped watching Channel 8's News when they canned everyone and I will do the same for the rest of this channel when they get rid of the soaps! Wow! This is such horrible news!
